CluckOut Support

What's New in Version 1.5.8

📍 Clock Stays in Sync with Your Places

Delete every workplace and Clock no longer keeps the old name in the tracking hint or on the next Check In. The place picker hides until you add a workplace again.

✨ Cleaner Category Rates

Category rate rows are separate cards. Extra list dividers between them are gone.

What's New in Version 1.5.7

📅 Clearer Time Frame

Pick Day, Week, Month, or Year the way you’d expect. Week, Month, and Year use period lists instead of a day calendar. Step periods with previous/next on Summary without opening the sheet. Switching from Day to Week keeps the week that contains the day you were viewing.

⚡ Faster Month & Year Browsing

With many records, Month groups by week and Year by month (collapsed). Expand a group to see its rows, or use the header expand/collapse-all icon. Prev/next stays responsive on large datasets. Day and Week stay a simple flat list.

✨ Empty States That Invite Action

Reminders and Custom Categories empty states now put the message and a centered Add button together in one card—no orphaned Add row above a blank area.

📊 Aligned Summary Cards

Filter toolbar, Statistics, and Time Records share the same width and margins; Statistics has comfortable side padding and rounded corners.

What's New in Version 1.5.6

📍 Workplaces

Tag where you worked. In Settings → Manage Workplaces, add Home, client sites, and other places. Choose Quiet (tag only) or Suggest (optional arrive/leave nudges). Set an optional default category and map pin. Pick a place when you clock in, change it mid-session, or attach it on Add/Edit Entry. Filter Summary by All Places, Untagged, or a specific place. CSV includes a Workplace column; PDF can show Workplace when you enable it under PDF export columns. Backup & Restore can include workplaces. Workplaces are iPhone-only.

🔔 Suggest Nudges (Optional)

Suggest places can notify you when you arrive or leave while still clocked in. Tapping a nudge opens Clock and prefills that place—CluckOut never auto clocks in or out. Requires Always location access and notification permission. Quiet places never send nudges.

🕐 Clearer Clock

Idle Clock shows today’s date, a labeled Category (and Workplace when you have places) card, and a short “Tracking …” hint under Clock In. Your last category and workplace are remembered. During a session, category and workplace sit side by side as chips; the hero timer stays front and center, with Estimated Pay underneath when a rate is set. On break, the hero shows break time and metrics show Work so far.

✅ Confirmation Toasts

Quick, auto-dismissing confirmation after you add, edit, or delete time records, reminders, categories, and workplaces; and after you save your default or category hourly rates—including when you swipe to delete.

📊 Clearer Summary & Forms

Time Records show category name, a simple time range, and a duration pill; the full date appears only when the day changes. The Summary filter uses a full-width period control with equal Category and Location filters. Help text for breaks, rates, and batch updates sits as section footers. Category rates align right and keep two decimals after editing.

🎨 Fresh App Icon

Updated CluckOut icon on iPhone and Apple Watch.

💾 Backup Files Use .json

When you create a backup in Settings → Backup & Restore, the default filename now ends with .json (for example, cluckout_backup_2026-07-22.json) so Files and other apps recognize it as JSON. Restore and backup content are unchanged.

What's New in Version 1.5.4

What's New in Version 1.5.4

🕐 Redesigned Clock

A clearer live session: Working or On Break status with category and clock-in time, a large hero timer, and side-by-side work duration with estimated pay. While on break, the hero shows break time and metrics show Work so far.

⚠️ Overlap Detection

Add or edit an entry that conflicts with another record and CluckOut blocks the save with a clear message. Back-to-back ranges (one ends when the next starts) are fine. Overlapping rows are flagged in Summary, with a note when totals may count overlapping time more than once.

✏️ Smarter Entry Forms

Validation banners call out clock order, break issues, and overlaps. Duration and pay preview as you edit. Rate fields show From category or Custom. Move check-in and breaks keep their relative offsets; change check-out and breaks clamp into the session.

💾 Backup & Restore

Save a full backup of your records, preferences, and categories—or any combination—then restore later. Preferences and categories replace what's on the device; records merge and skip duplicates. Find it in Settings → Backup & Restore. Backup is unavailable while a clock session is active.

🔔 Still Clocked In Reminder

Forgot to clock out? In Settings → Reminders, turn on Remind Me If Still Clocked In, set your usual end time, and choose how often to repeat. If you are still clocked in past that time, CluckOut notifies you—and keeps reminding you until you clock out.

☕ Long Break Reminder

Break running long? Turn on Remind Me If Break Runs Long, choose how long before the first nudge (30, 45, 60, or 90 minutes, or Custom from 1–240 minutes), and how often to repeat. You'll get a "Still on break?" notification after your break exceeds that time, then again until you resume work or clock out.

📅 Summary Filter Toolbar

Pick a day, week, month, or year from a compact toolbar on Summary. Tap the calendar for a full calendar view with a clear Day/Week/Month/Year control, jump to Today / This Week / This Month / This Year, and filter by category from the same bar.

📊 Metric Carousel & Layout Polish

On Summary, Total Time and Estimated Pay swipe as carousel pages (with page dots). Settings and Clock screens reserve space for the ad banner so footers and controls are no longer covered when you scroll. Summary updates category breakdown and time records right after you save an edit.

What's New in Version 1.5.2

⌚ Apple Watch Smart Stack Widget

Add CluckOut to your Apple Watch Smart Stack for quick access. Tap the widget to open the CluckOut app on your wrist—perfect when you want to clock in, take a break, or check your session without hunting through your apps. Available in rectangular and circular Smart Stack layouts on watchOS 10 and later.

⌨️ Easier Hourly Rate Entry

Editing hourly rates is smoother across the app. A Done button appears above the number pad when you enter rates in Settings, category rates, batch rate updates, and manual add or edit entry forms.

🧭 Consistent Form Navigation

Add Entry, Edit Entry, batch rate updates, category rates, export, and clear records now use the same title-bar layout as Add Category—primary action on the right with an X to dismiss. Export and Clear moved from the bottom of the screen to Export and Clear in the navigation bar.

📱 Smarter Ad Banner During Rate Entry

When you edit hourly rates with the number pad, the ad banner temporarily hides so it does not cover the keyboard or Done button. The banner returns when you tap Done.

📄 Customize PDF Export Columns

Choose which columns appear when you print or share time records as PDF. Open Settings → PDF export columns to show or hide Date, Clock In, Clock Out, Duration, Break Time, and Category. Your choices are saved automatically and apply the next time you export from Summary. Related summary sections (such as total time, break time, or category breakdown) are hidden when their matching column is turned off—so your PDF stays focused on what you need.

What's New in Version 1.5.0

☕ Break / Pause Timer

Take a break while you're clocked in without losing your session! Tap "Take a Break" on the Clock tab to pause your work timer, then tap "Resume Work" when you're ready. Your work duration stops during breaks, and a live break timer shows how long you've been on break—so earnings reflect actual work time, not lunch or coffee breaks.

✏️ Manual Break Intervals

When adding or editing a time entry, you can record one or more break intervals with start and end times. The app shows total break time and work duration, and validates that breaks fall within your check-in/check-out window.

📊 CSV & PDF Break Reporting

Exported CSV files now include a Break Time column alongside work duration. Import preserves your check-in and check-out times and break totals. Time records PDFs also show break time in the summary and entry table when breaks are present.

⌚ Apple Watch Break Support

Start and end breaks from your Apple Watch while checked in. The watch shows on-break status, your work duration, and live break time—synced with your iPhone in real time.

You can now generate and share your time records as a PDF from the Summary screen. Use the "Print time records as PDF" button in the time records section to create a PDF that includes the current time frame (day, week, month, or year), date range, and your category filter if one is selected. The PDF shows a summary with total duration and earnings, a category breakdown table, and a detailed entry table (check-in, check-out, duration, and category). Use the share sheet to save the PDF to Files or share it with other apps.

Time Tracking Basics

How do I track my time?

From iPhone:
1. Open CluckOut
2. Tap "Clock In" when you start working
3. Tap "Clock Out" when you finish

From Apple Watch (New in 1.4.3):
1. Open the CluckOut app on your Apple Watch
2. Tap "Clock In" or "Clock Out" directly from your wrist
3. Your status syncs automatically with your iPhone

Enhanced in 1.4.0: Time tracking now includes meaningful animations with logo pulse effects, breathing button animations, and real-time duration updates with estimated pay display. Enjoy haptic feedback on supported devices for a more engaging experience.

New in 1.4.3: Full Apple Watch support allows you to track time from your wrist with real-time synchronization between devices. Perfect for quick clock in/out without reaching for your phone.

New in 1.5.8: Delete every workplace and Clock hides the place picker, drops the deleted name from the tracking hint, and does not tag the next Check In with the removed place. The picker returns when you add a workplace again.

New in 1.5.6: Idle Clock shows today’s date, a labeled Category (and Workplace when you have places) card, and a “Tracking …” hint. Your last category and workplace are remembered. During a session, category and workplace appear as side-by-side chips; Estimated Pay sits under the hero timer when a rate is set.

New in 1.5.4: The Clock screen shows Working or On Break status, a large hero timer, and side-by-side work duration with estimated pay. While on break, the hero shows break time and metrics show Work so far.

New in 1.5.0: Take a break while clocked in without stopping your session. Tap "Take a Break" to pause your work timer, then "Resume Work" when you're ready. Work duration automatically excludes break time for accurate earnings.

How do I use Workplaces?

New in 1.5.6:
1. Go to Settings → Manage Workplaces
2. Add places such as Home, client sites, or other locations
3. Choose Quiet (tag only) or Suggest (optional arrive/leave nudges)
4. Optionally set a default category and a map pin
5. When you clock in (or on Add/Edit Entry), pick a place—or None
6. Change workplace mid-session from the Clock chips if needed
7. On Summary, filter by All Places, Untagged, or a specific place

Selecting a place applies its default category when one is set. Soft-deleting a place removes it from pickers; existing entries keep their place tag. Workplaces are available on iPhone only (not on Apple Watch).

New in 1.5.8: After you delete the last workplace, Clock hides the place picker, drops the deleted name from the tracking hint, and the next Check In is untagged. The picker returns when you add a workplace again.

How do Suggest workplace nudges work?

New in 1.5.6: Suggest places can notify you when you arrive (while idle) or leave (while clocked in). Tapping a nudge opens Clock and prefills that place—and its default category if set. CluckOut never auto clocks in or out.

Suggest mode requires Always location access and notification permission. Quiet places never send nudges. There is a cooldown between nudges for the same place and event, and iOS limits how many Suggest regions can be monitored at once.

How do I take a break while clocked in?

1. Clock in as usual on the Clock tab
2. Tap "Take a Break" to start an open-ended pause
3. Your work timer stops and a live break timer shows elapsed break time
4. Tap "Resume Work" when you're ready to continue
5. Clock out when your session is complete—work duration excludes all break time

New in 1.5.0: Breaks end only when you tap "Resume Work." There are no preset break durations or automatic break-end alerts. Your earnings are based on work time, not total session length.

How do I add breaks to a manual time entry?

1. Go to the Summary tab and tap "+" to add an entry, or tap an existing entry to edit
2. Set your check-in and check-out times
3. In the Breaks section, add one or more break intervals with start and end times
4. The app shows total break time and work duration as you edit
5. Tap Save

New in 1.5.4: Moving check-in shifts breaks by the same offset; changing check-out clamps breaks into the session window. Validation banners call out break issues before you save.

New in 1.5.0: Break intervals must fall within your check-in/check-out window. Work duration is calculated as session time minus break time. Imported records with break totals show a read-only break summary when editing (no interval history).

How do I edit a time entry?

1. Go to the Summary tab
2. Tap on the entry you want to edit
3. Modify the clock-in/clock-out times with second-level precision
4. Tap Save in the navigation bar

New in 1.5.6: Optionally attach a workplace. A confirmation toast appears after you save or delete. Break help text appears as a section footer under Add Break.

New in 1.5.4: Overlapping ranges are blocked with a clear banner. Duration and pay preview as you edit; rate fields show From category or Custom. Summary category breakdown and rows refresh immediately after you save.

New in 1.5.2: Edit Entry uses a title-bar Save button with an X to dismiss. Rate fields show a Done button above the decimal pad.

Improved: Edit interface now supports more precise time adjustments and provides better validation.

How do I add a manual time entry?

1. Go to the Summary tab
2. Tap the "+" button
3. Enter clock-in and clock-out times with second-level precision
4. Set the hourly rate for this entry (tap Done above the number pad when finished)
5. Tap Add in the navigation bar to save

New in 1.5.6: Optionally attach a workplace (selecting a place can apply its default category). A confirmation toast appears after you add the entry.

New in 1.5.4: If the range overlaps an existing record, a banner blocks save until you adjust the times. Back-to-back ranges are allowed. Duration and pay preview as you edit.

New in 1.5.2: Add Entry uses a title-bar Add button with an X to dismiss, matching other forms. Rate fields show a Done button above the decimal pad.

Enhanced: Manual entry now supports more precise time input and better rate management.

Hourly Rates & Earnings

How do hourly rates work?

• Each time entry can have its own hourly rate
• Set your default rate in Settings
• Modify individual entry rates by editing the entry
• Rates are preserved historically for completed entries

Enhanced: Better rate validation and consistent formatting across all views.

How are earnings calculated?

• Earnings are calculated based on each entry's specific rate
• Active entries use your current default rate
• Completed entries maintain their historical rates
• Real-time updates for active entries
• Work duration excludes break time—earnings reflect actual work time, not total session length

New in 1.5.0: Break and pause time is subtracted from session duration before earnings are calculated. Take a break while clocked in or record break intervals on manual entries for accurate billing.

Improved: More accurate calculations with better precision and real-time updates.

How do I update rates for multiple entries?

Enhanced Batch Rate Update Feature:
1. Go to Settings > Hourly Rate
2. Tap "Batch Rate Update"
3. Enter your new rate
4. Select a time period (last 7/30/90 days, this month/year, or custom)
5. Choose category scope (All Categories, Selected Categories, or Specific Category)
6. Preview current rates before updating
7. Tap "Update Rates" in the navigation bar to apply changes

This feature allows you to quickly update rates for all entries within a specific time period and category scope, perfect for when your pay rate changes!

New in 1.5.2: Batch Rate Update uses a title-bar Update button with an X to dismiss. The rate field shows a Done button above the decimal pad, and the ad banner hides while you edit.

Enhanced in 1.4.0: Category-specific filtering, preview functionality, comprehensive error handling, and immediate UI updates after changes.

How do I set my default hourly rate?

1. Go to Settings
2. Select "Hourly Rate"
3. Enter your rate (supports up to 2 decimal places)
4. Tap Done above the number pad when finished
5. The rate will be applied to new entries automatically

New in 1.5.6: A confirmation toast appears after you save your default rate. Help text for the default rate sits as a section footer.

New in 1.5.2: A Done button appears above the decimal pad for reliable keyboard dismissal. The ad banner temporarily hides while you edit rates so it does not cover the keyboard or Done button.

Enhanced: Better input validation and formatting for consistent rate entry.

How do I set category-specific rates?

Available in 1.4.0 and later:
1. Go to Settings > Manage Categories
2. Select a category to edit
3. Set a specific hourly rate for that category
4. Categories without specific rates will use your global rate

This feature allows you to track different rates for different types of work. For example, you might charge $50/hour for consulting but $25/hour for administrative tasks.

New in 1.5.8: In Settings → Rate Settings → Category Rates, each category rate is its own card with spacing—no extra list dividers between rows.

New in 1.5.7: When you have no custom categories yet, Manage Categories shows a message and a centered Add Category button together in one card. Searching with no matches still uses the list-style Add row plus a no-results message.

Features: Category-specific rate management, enhanced batch rate updates with category filtering, and automatic fallback to global rates.

Data Management

How do I export my time records?

1. Go to Settings
2. Select "Records Management"
3. Tap "Export Records"
4. Choose export format (CSV, CSV Excel-compatible, or JSON)
5. Choose time period filtering (last 7/30/90 days, this month/year, custom periods)
6. Select categories to include in export
7. Tap Export in the navigation bar

New in 1.5.2: Export Options uses an Export button in the title bar (with an X to dismiss) instead of a button at the bottom of the form.

New in 1.4.2: Export now supports multiple formats! Choose from CSV (standard), CSV (Excel-compatible with UTF-8 BOM), or JSON format. All formats maintain data integrity and support all existing features.

New in 1.5.6: CSV export includes a Workplace column so you can see where each entry was tagged.

New in 1.5.0: CSV export now includes a Break Time column alongside work duration. Break time and work duration are stored separately for accurate reporting.

Enhanced in 1.4.0: Export includes flexible time period filtering, progress indicators during export, and category-specific data. Enjoy clean progress overlays and comprehensive error handling.

How do I print or share time records as PDF?

1. Go to the Summary tab
2. Choose your time frame (day, week, month, or year) and period from the filter toolbar
3. Optionally filter by category from the same toolbar
4. In the time records section, tap the "Print time records as PDF" button (printer icon)
5. The app generates a PDF with a summary (total duration and earnings), category breakdown, and detailed entry table
6. Use the share sheet to save to Files, print, or share with other apps

New in 1.5.6: PDF export columns include an optional Workplace column (off by default for existing users). Turn it on under Settings → PDF export columns.

New in 1.5.1: Customize which columns appear in your PDF. Go to Settings → PDF export columns and toggle Date, Clock In, Clock Out, Duration, Break Time, and Category. At least one column must remain visible. Related summary sections (total time, break time, or category breakdown) hide when their matching column is turned off. Your choices are saved and apply the next time you export.

New in 1.4.6: The PDF reflects your current period and category filter. No time records for the selected period? The button is still available; the PDF will show the empty state for that period.

New in 1.5.0: PDFs now include total break time in the summary (when breaks are present) and a Break Time column in the detailed entry table.

How do I import records?

1. Go to Settings > Records Management
2. Tap "Import History"
3. Select your file (CSV, Excel, or JSON)
4. Watch progress indicators during import

New in 1.4.2: Import now supports multiple file formats! The app automatically detects the format based on file extension (.csv, .xlsx, .xls, .json). Supports CSV files, Excel-compatible files with UTF-8 BOM handling, and JSON files with DataFrame format.

New in 1.5.6: CSV import resolves the Workplace column by place name when a matching workplace exists.

New in 1.5.0: CSV import preserves check-in and check-out times when a Break Time column is present (no recalculation from duration). Legacy CSV files without a Break Time column still import correctly. Imported records with break totals show a read-only break summary when editing.

Enhanced in 1.4.0: Import includes progress indicators, enhanced error handling, and overnight shift support. Enjoy clean progress overlays and comprehensive validation.

Legacy Format Support: The app automatically detects and supports multiple time formats:

Note: Import files should include clock-in time, clock-out time, and optionally hourly rate. The app will automatically handle format detection, duplicate prevention, and overnight shift logic.

How do I delete my records?

Enhanced in 1.4.1 - Selective Record Deletion:
1. Go to Settings > Records Management

3. Choose a time period (last 7/30/90 days, this month/year, custom period, or all records)
4. Select category filtering (all categories or specific categories)
5. Preview what will be deleted (entry count, total duration, total earnings)
6. Tap Clear in the navigation bar to confirm

This feature allows you to selectively delete records by time period and category, perfect for cleaning up specific data without losing everything. You can preview exactly what will be deleted before confirming.

New in 1.5.2: Clear Options uses a Clear button in the title bar (with an X to dismiss) instead of a button at the bottom of the form.

Enhanced in 1.4.1: Period and category filtering, real-time preview with statistics, and improved error handling with detailed alerts for delete operations.

How do I navigate through my time records?

1. Go to the Summary tab
2. Use the filter toolbar to pick Day, Week, Month, or Year
3. Tap the period control for a picker suited to that frame—or use previous/next to step periods without opening the sheet
4. Filter by category from the same toolbar
5. When you have workplaces, filter by All Places, Untagged, or a specific place

New in 1.5.7: Week, Month, and Year use period lists instead of a day calendar. Day still uses a day calendar. Switching from Day to Week (or Month/Year) keeps the period that contains the day you were viewing. In Month view, records group by week; in Year view, by month—groups start collapsed. Expand a group for its rows, or use the header expand/collapse-all icon. Day and Week stay a flat list. Prev/next stays responsive even with many records.

New in 1.5.6: The period control is full width on its own row; Category and Location filters share equal width on the second row. Time Records show category name, a simple time range, and a duration pill—the full date appears only when the day changes.

New in 1.5.4: A compact Summary filter toolbar replaces the older Time Frame card. The period sheet includes a clear Day/Week/Month/Year control and quick jumps to the current period.

New in 1.4.2: Added "Year" time frame option! View all entries from January 1st to December 31st of the selected year with quick navigation to current year.

4. To restore, open a backup file and confirm—preferences, categories, and workplaces replace what's on the device; records merge and skip duplicates

New in 1.5.6: Backup & Restore includes an optional Workplaces toggle. Restoring workplaces replaces the places on the device.

New in 1.5.5: The default backup filename now ends with .json (for example, cluckout_backup_2026-07-22.json) so Files and other apps recognize it as JSON.

New in 1.5.4: Manual JSON backup of records, preferences, and categories. Backup & Restore is disabled while a clock session is active (same guard as Records Management). Backups are local files only—there is no iCloud sync.

Notifications & Reminders

How do I set up reminders?

1. Go to Settings
2. Select "Reminders"
3. If notification permission is not granted, tap "Request Notification Permission"
4. Allow notifications when prompted
5. Enable reminders and set your preferred times

New in 1.5.7: When you have no reminders yet, the empty state shows a message and a centered Add Reminder button together in one card.

New in 1.5.4: Optional session reminders: Remind Me If Still Clocked In (usual end time + repeat) and Remind Me If Break Runs Long (threshold + repeat). See the questions below for details.

Enhanced in 1.3.2: Complete reminder system overhaul with flexible scheduling! You can now create repeatable reminders for specific days of the week, edit existing reminders, and enjoy intelligent reminder behavior.

How do I get reminded if I forget to clock out?

1. Go to Settings → Reminders
2. Turn on Remind Me If Still Clocked In
3. Set your Usual End Time and how often to Repeat Every (1–4 hours)
4. Clock in as usual—if you are still clocked in past that time, you'll get a "Still clocked in?" notification that repeats until you clock out

New in 1.5.4: Reminders are scheduled on clock-in and cancelled on clock-out. They are also reconciled when you reopen the app if you are still checked in.

How do I get reminded if a break runs long?

1. Go to Settings → Reminders
2. Turn on Remind Me If Break Runs Long
3. Choose Remind After (30, 45, 60, or 90 minutes, or Custom from 1–240 minutes) and Repeat Every (15, 30, 45, or 60 minutes)
4. Clock in, then Take a Break—after the threshold you'll get a "Still on break?" notification that repeats until you Resume Work or Clock Out

New in 1.5.4: Long break reminders are scheduled when you take a break and cancelled when you resume or clock out.

What if notification permission is denied?

If notification permission is denied, the reminder toggle will be disabled and you'll see a warning message. To fix this:

1. Tap "Open Settings" in the Reminders section
2. Navigate to CluckOut in iOS Settings
3. Enable "Allow Notifications"
4. Return to the app and try enabling reminders again

New in 1.2.2: The app now provides clear guidance and direct access to iOS Settings when permission is denied.

How do I manage my reminders?

1. Go to Settings > Reminders
2. View your current reminder settings
3. Add new reminders or modify existing ones
4. Enable/disable reminders as needed

Enhanced in 1.3.2: Complete reminder management overhaul! You can now edit all aspects of existing reminders including type, time, repeatable days, and enabled state. Delete reminders with confirmation alerts, and enjoy automatic notification rescheduling when changes are made.

How do repeatable reminders work?

New in 1.3.2: Create reminders that repeat on specific days of the week!

• Choose from weekdays, weekends, or custom day combinations
• The app intelligently displays your schedule (e.g., "Weekdays", "Mon, Wed, Fri")
• Use "Select All" and "Clear All" buttons for convenient day selection
• Edit repeatable days at any time with automatic notification rescheduling

How do I edit my reminders?

New in 1.3.2: Full editing capabilities for all your reminders!

• Tap on any existing reminder to open the edit interface
• Modify reminder type, time, repeatable days, and enabled state
• Delete reminders with confirmation alerts to prevent accidental removal
• All changes automatically reschedule notifications to maintain consistency
• Individual enable/disable toggles for each reminder

Why is the reminder toggle disabled?

The reminder toggle is disabled when notification permission is not granted. This ensures that reminders only work when properly configured. To enable it:

• If you haven't granted permission yet: Tap "Request Notification Permission"
• If permission was denied: Tap "Open Settings" to enable notifications in iOS Settings

New in 1.2.2: Automatic permission checking prevents reminders from being enabled without proper notification setup.

4. Tap "Clock In" or "Clock Out" directly from your wrist

Features: Real-time duration display, connection status indicator, automatic synchronization, and error handling with user-friendly messages.

New in 1.5.6: The Watch app icon is refreshed. Workplaces are managed and selected on iPhone only; the Watch app does not include workplace UI.

New in 1.5.2: Add CluckOut to your Apple Watch Smart Stack for quick access. Tap the widget (rectangular or circular) to open the Watch app—ideal for clocking in, taking a break, or checking your session. Requires watchOS 10 or later.

New in 1.5.0: Take a break and resume work directly from your Apple Watch while checked in. The watch shows on-break status (orange), work duration, and live break time synced with your iPhone.

How do I add CluckOut to the Apple Watch Smart Stack?

1. On your Apple Watch, open the Smart Stack (turn the Digital Crown up from the watch face)
2. Scroll to the bottom and tap Edit Widgets (or long-press a widget and choose Edit Widgets)
3. Tap the + button and select CluckOut
4. Choose a rectangular or circular layout

2. While checked in, tap "Take a Break" on your Apple Watch

What Apple Watch models are supported?

The CluckOut Watch app requires Apple Watch running watchOS 8.0 or later (restored in 1.5.4). The Smart Stack widget still requires watchOS 10.0 or later. The watch app requires a paired iPhone with the CluckOut app installed.

Why isn't my watch app connecting to my iPhone?

If you see a connection error on your watch app:

• Make sure your Apple Watch is paired with your iPhone
• Ensure both devices are nearby and Bluetooth is enabled
• Try restarting both the watch app and iPhone app
• Check that the CluckOut app is installed on your iPhone

The watch app requires an active Watch Connectivity session to communicate with your iPhone. The connection status indicator shows whether the session is active.

Can I use the watch app without my iPhone nearby?

The watch app requires an active connection to your iPhone via Watch Connectivity to clock in and out. While you can view the app interface, clock in/out operations require the iPhone to be nearby and connected via Bluetooth.

Troubleshooting

What if my time entries aren't saving correctly?

• Ensure you have sufficient storage space on your device
• Try restarting the app
• Check that you're connected to the internet for cloud sync (if enabled)
• If using Apple Watch, ensure your watch is connected to your iPhone

Enhanced: Better error handling and validation now prevent most data loss issues.

Why aren't my earnings calculating correctly?

• Verify your hourly rate is set correctly in Settings
• Check that individual entries have the correct rates
• Ensure time entries have both clock-in and clock-out times

Improved: More accurate calculations with better precision and real-time updates.

How do I reset my data if something goes wrong?

1. Go to Settings > Records Management
2. Tap "Delete All Records"
3. Choose your deletion options (time period and category filtering)
4. Preview what will be deleted
5. Confirm the action

Enhanced in 1.4.1: You can now selectively delete records by time period and category, allowing you to clean up specific data without losing everything. Preview what will be deleted before confirming.

Note: This action cannot be undone, so make sure to export your data first if needed.
